| Bio: | I'm married to a sweetheart of a man (9 years and counting) and we have a 3-year old son whom we both adore. We have a really happy, full life and we love each other lots and lots. I'm a stay at home mom and I love almost everyday. I say "almost" because some days I would like to be back "out there" working, etc. My focus each day is to love and care for my husband, son, cat, fish and home. I love my life. Before I had my son, I worked in Marketing. I enjoyed every aspect of Marketing - from researching current trends to product development to promotion. I'm an anal person when it comes to all things visual and my favorite part of the job was creating promotional tools - web site, catalogs, spec sheets. I loved starting with a blank canvas and creating something totally cool that thousands of people would look at. And I'll admit, I craved the praise. It was an enjoyable job for the most part and I was truly sad to leave when the time came. But, I left for a great reason. I wanted a baby more than anything and in order to get one I had to do IVF and for that reason, I had to leave my job. As you can tell from the notes above, I did get pregnant (hooray!). Marrying my husband and quitting my job are tied for the best decision I ever made. Marketing naturally translated into Scrapbooking. I still love starting with a blank canvas and creating something cool, even though only a handful of people will look at the finished product. I love my hobby and I love preserving our memories. I really love that scrapbooking is a strong common thread for my best friend and I. We never would've grown totally apart, but I feel like our mutual love of this craft has really brought us so much closer together (hi friend!). I love making cards for people and all things to do with paper. I love how anal I can be with paper and photos. I'm anal about all sorts of things - just slightly OC maybe. =) I just like things to be a certain way - my way. I like the hangers in the laundry room to be grouped together by type and I like my pantry to be organized (snacks on a shelf, breakfast items on a shelf, etc.). The pillows on my couch must be fluffed before I go to bed at night. I just like things clean and where they should be. I will however, let a bathroom go crazy. It's wierd. Selective anal-ness I guess. I love food and not just because I need it, but because it is really yummy. There isn't much I don't like and it's hard to say what my favorites are. I can eat a piece of cake at 6am and I could go the rest of my life without eating meat. I love sweets (and it shows) and I love my moms cooking. Yummy southern food is my fave with lots of butter and cornbread on the side. We've recently moved to Tennessee and I miss my family (a lot) and I miss my friends (a lot). I love living here and it's great for our family. It's still strange not to live in Georgia. I hope to use this journal as a way to express how I feel about everything. As I said above, my focus is primarily on every one but me, so I hope to ramble, vent, whatever about all things. Should be interesting. | |||||||
